3 Shades of the Same

This is my niece, Paige.  This photo is one of her senior pictures.  I was inspired by a similar layout done by Tracy (tracpitch) over on Scrapbook Flair.  Tracy had clipped the same photo three different ways then did three different edits to each piece.  I have scrap lifted her layout above.  The kit I used for this scrap is called Sweet Love by Nanly Designs (available through Scrap Bird).

Boys Will be Boys

I have a really difficult time not giving a scrap lots of flowers and frills!  There are not a lot of kits dedicated to little boys and little boy stuff, so I have taken a regular kit and tried to make a scrap that is boyish.  I used a collab kit that was free with a minimum purchase through Scrap Bird (the link to Scrap Bird is on the right under Favorite Sites).  The kit is called Paint My World.  The photos are of my son and daughter-in-law's god son, Wes.  These were taken on a visit to the park and school playground.

The Direction of Your Dreams

These three photos are some of my most favorite of Haley.  I snapped these one afternoon while she was lounging on a huge round hale bale and enjoying the Oklahoma winds.  If you can't read the caption it says:  Go confidently in the direction of your Dreams.  Live the life you have imagined ~ Henry David Thereau.  I used a kit called Dream Catcher by G&T Designs which is available through E-scape and Scrap; the link is on the right side.

Poppy Dance

This scrap was created for a challenge over on Scrapbook Flair called "Poppies".  I created this page in PSE8 then took it into Paint.net where I softened it, gave it a little glow and played a bit with the color curves.  The female image and the lizard image are from the web.  The background and all other elements are from a kit called Summer by Mago74.  This is a free kit available on her blog, her link is under Favorite Sites on the right.

Sea Happy

This is another icon for one of my challenges at Scrapbook Flair called "Off the Edge".  For this challenge we were to create scraps where the pictures were off the edge of the page.  This is my granddaughter, Haley, while we were on vacation on South Padre Island, Texas in 2010.  I used the kit Siren by Kittyscraps.  The kit is available for purchase at Scrap Bird, link is under My Favorites

Playing on the Dunes

This scrap was created for a challenge at Scrapbook Flair.  For this challenge we were to place a paper over the top of a photo then cut openings in the top layer (like windows) so parts of the photo beneath can be seen.  The photo is of my granddaughter, Haley while we were on vacation in South Padre Island, Texas.  Yep, it is another photo where we can't see her face.  I used the kits Bleu Ocean and Un Bout de Paradise by Nanly Designs to create this scrap.  Both kits are available for purchase at Scrap Bird link is under Favorite Sites on the right.

Cancer the Crab

Over on Scrapbook Flair, I host several challenges each month.  When I set up a challenge I always create an icon.  This challenge is called Your Zodiac Sign.  My birthday is in July so I am a Cancer.  I used Vividly Vintage by G&T Designs to create this page.  The crab image is from the web and blended onto a paper from the kit.  The wording is my own.  The kit used for this scrap is available for purchase at E-Scape and Scrap, the link is under Favorite Sites on the right.

Goose Feeding

This is Dirk and Lyndsey's god son.  We went to the park and were feeding the geese.  I love photos where the person is looking away from the camera.  I used A Lencre Violet by Nanly Design to create this scrap.  The kit is available for purchase at Scrap Bird, the link is under Favorite Sites on the right.

Unbreakable

This photo is of my son, Dirk and his bride, Lyndsey.  It will be a year in May since their wedding and I am trying to put together an album for an anniversary present.  I used Unbreakable by G&T Designs to create this scrap.  The kit is available for purchase at E-Scape and Scrap, the link is under Favorite Sites on the right.

Mermaid Cove

This is a scrap I entered into a challenge on Scrapbook Flair (the challenge is called Looking Through the Window).  Since I love the ocean I decided that I wanted to look through a portal.  I used the following kits to create this scrap:  Sun, Sea and Beach by digicats, Water World by Laurie Made Me Scraps and By the Sea by Cajoline.  These 3 kits were free on these designers blogs, I have had them all for quite some time so I don't know if they are still available though.

My Goodness it has been a Year!!!

I can't believe it has been over a year since I have posted on my blog.  I am mortified!!!  Here are a few of my latest scraps.  I know I had planned to create a few free kits and post them here on my blog, but I have instead been focusing more on creating free kits for Scrapbook Flair.  Since my last post in February 2012 I have donated 2 kits to Scrapbook Flair, the first was called 4th of July Collection (I know a real eye catching title...lol), and the second was Bootiful Halloween.  I have a new free kit that will be coming out on Scrapbook Flair for Easter called An Eggceptional Pastel Easter, and I am putting the final touches on a kit for father's day with a working title of My Country Dad.
